Another friendly reaction tumblr, this time from your LFS brothers!

Anonymous asked: What do the national/your bylaws say about brothers who have been charged with sexual assault/sexual misconduct by the school? I'm a brother who was sexually assaulted by another brother, and the perpetrator brother was found responsible by the college. I'm going abroad next semester, but I'm not sure what will happen when I return. Does he get kicked out after this semester? When I come back? At all?

I don’t believe that is in the bylaws, but for your chapter it might be.

If believe that at some schools they wouldn’t be allowed back at school, let alone the chapter.

I’d encourage you to talk to your dean or another knowledgeable person at your school and find out what happens at your school.

Anonymous asked: So for that reimbursement issue some drivers have the square for cards or take cash. We asked our brothers to pay especially for long drives. The brothers are more than happy to go along with this. For long drives the drivers often have to fill out a waiver and in it is how to get reimbursement. Have the president of the chapter ask the brothers to pitch in for gas and stuff and be a brother about it.

For gas money our chapter has tried a few different options. At first the ExComm member who is in charge of that particular event reminds brothers that they should be giving gas money and we didn’t have that many problems. The driver also got one fraternity service hour for every forty miles driven.

When that stopped working, the Executive member just started requiring a set amount, usually $5, to be paid directly to the brother. Not paying results in a loss of credit for the event. We haven’t really had major problems historically, besides some bros not having cash. Usually they’re willing to work it out personally.

Also, you could always try to move that gas be provisioned for in the budgets. That would probably work in our chapter, personally :)

Hope this helps a little!

Anonymous asked: Suggestion about vehicles: Our chapter has an incentive system we just started this semester. In a google doc you enter your name and the project info in which you drove. Each project is an entry. The chapter passed money for gas cards for so many people. I can't remember how much for each but in the end they'll choose a few to receive the gas cards. If this isn't something your chapter would want to do at least it'll give you some ideas.

myhopesmydreamsandmyeverything asked: Id say write up a driving policy, get a few brothers who agree on board to vote for it, and try to get it in. You could have thing that went by distance traveled/price of gas then or talk to the service person about ideas.

to the frustrated driving brother - my chapter gives any brother who drives some extra service hour credits!!

Anonymous asked: I've never had someone ask for money we usually offer if we're going some where far. & I know my chapter gives the drivers an extra service hour. Idk about the while mad thing. If I think of any solutions I'll let you now.

Anonymous asked: I have more of a question than a submission for the 1000+ brothers out there: As an upperdivision student with a car, I often volunteer to drive to various service/etc events, but our chapter doesn't have a system of reimbursing drivers and it's become frustrating (and often expensive). Brothers get resentful if I ask, or start accusing me of charging too much. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this problem, or has ideas for dealing with this problem from your chapter.

My chapter offers reimbursement, but followers feel free to submit!
